Designed by Bat'karé Yacht design Team, Iki is a modern raid boat. Easy to build, fun, simple and fast under sail or oar... Iki can be used for family beach cruising, along the coast of Brittany for example. You can also compete in raids in Finland or Scotland if you wish!
Built in ply/epoxy, light weight was one of the primary design goals (for ease of transport, ease of rowing and performance) as was security to maximise range. Under sail the narrow beam at the waterline, when upright, increases quickly as the boat heels onto the three panel hull side. A ballast in the bottom plus the weight of the crew and a steel centreboard stiffen the hull when the wind strengthens. When rowing, the small wetted area gives good speed potential to two or four oarsmen. The ballast helps with inertia when rowing into a chop or against the wind.

There are two sail plans available (conserving the same deck layout) which adapt the boat to the zone you will be sailing in and the type of sailing you are planning on doing.
Unsinkable and self bailing cockpit, the stern has a large watertight "hold" for supplies and gear. Under the front deck another watertight hatch gives access to a well lit and roomy space with double berth. A boom tent enables more sleeping space at night with two berths on deck. The galley is placed on one of the benches and a table attaches to the centreboard case. Under sail, the oars are stocked in holders under the benches. The removable rowing benches can be placed at different locations as required.
