The Oktet 630 is a modern ply/epoxy day boat for todays sailor who requires performance, simplicity and functionality all in one boat. Club racing, a picnic on an island or a weekend cruise along the coast, simple pleasures mixed with high performance.
Club racing: the stability of the hull form and deep profiled lifting keel give great sailing to windward. The sail area to weight ratio of 39 square metres per metric ton show great potential speed.
Beach hopping: sailing right up close to the coast and landing on the beach are possible thanks to a draught of just 10 cm keel raised. The light weight combined with fully raised keel and rudders also mean launching and recuperating from/to the trailer are child's play, as is towing behind a moderately powered car.
Cruising: conceived to comply with the European class C, Oktet 630 is insubmersible. Fine entry and moderate depth mean excellent passage making whatever the seas and the load carrying capacity of the hull means that crew and supplies don't affect the sea keeping ability of the boat. Two large lockers in the cockpit and seating well protected by the height of the backrests in the middle of the boat. Inside a large double berth, a saloon and many convenient lockers.
The design of the hull is original and destined to guarantee stability of form and balance whatever the point of sail. Heeled the reduced wetted area presents a straight and symmetrical surface from bow to stern. To windward the helm is balanced, the narrow and deep ballasted keel guarantees excellent pointing ability. Off the wind the wide and flat bottom gets Oktet 630 up on a plane with ease. The hull shape and light weight allows the crew to adapt the attitude to the conditions of wind and sea with ease. Sailing pleasure guaranteed!
