The Barefoot 40 by Grainger Designs
Barefoot 40 is a stylish and totally modern cruising catamaran with a genuine pedigree that will guarantee good performance, and live aboard comfort.

Design lines
With Barefoot we’ve crafted a design with a roomy interior and very practical deck layout. All of the control lines from the mast can be lead aft under the decks to the cockpit and access to the mast base from the cockpit is safe and easy.
Customisation
Configure your Barefoot to your personal taste and requirements. Fixed keels or daggerboards, a charter boat layout or your own private cruiser, racing sails and rig, or a simple cruising package, the choice is yours.

Barefoot 40 accommodation arrangement
As with our other cruising designs, we have optimised the fore and aft length of the saloon and the cockpit to enhance the feeling of open space and make these areas convivial to socialising and relaxing.
We have drawn some options for the accommodation arrangement, but it’s a simple matter to mix and match, or add new options depending on your requirements.

We prefer sleeping in the aft cabins. That’s where the motion is most kindly in a seaway, and access to the berth is easy, with plenty of headroom and good access to the saloon and cockpit. But some prefer the forward cabins and in Barefoot the forward slope of the cabin top provides generous space in the forward cabins without detracting from bridge clearance.
You can have galley up or down, put a bathroom in place of one of the aft cabins, put forward berths down in the hulls, and there’s room for a washer and dryer if you remove one of the forward wingdeck berths.
The generous size of the saloon allows ample space for a dedicated chart table and nav. station.
The layout of your Barefoot depends only on your requirements.
Construction method
Barefoot boats are built using modern modular construction techniques for building speed and economy. Prelaminated flat panels are employed wherever possible without compromising the aesthetics or performance of the Barefoot boats.

Barefoot is available in kit form and can be built from full length pre-laminated panels, or ATL's Duflex kits which allow the standard 8' x 4' (2.4m x 1.2m) panels to be joined on site.
Build your own Barefoot or order your Barefoot professionally build to your own specification.
