Whio, an economical cruiser from New Zealand

After the interest created by the recent Woodenboat article I am pleased to confirm the availability of the Whio Plans Package for purchase. Now you can build your very own Whio. She has in every respect met and exceeded my expectations and I am confident that as a future Whio owner you will enjoy many years of affordable and exhilarating boating aboard her. She has proved herself a very capable sea boat, with her combination of strong light- weight hull and very positive thrust via her specially designed propeller.

The two blade 23 X 22 propeller that is presently fitted to Whio will be soon be available in bronze. The pitch will be adjustable from 17 to 26 inches and will also be available in two or three blade versions so as to be suitable for other engines.

I have moulds for the porthole rims. The rims will be available in fibreglass with the bronze finish if required.

Time has been taken to finish the extra detailing of the 6 sheets of drawings and 2 sheets of full-size Mylar patterns for the frames, stem, and stern, ensuring that you will receive a comprehensive set of easily followed plans. I am including with the drawings a CD with photos detailing some of the interior construction. I feel confident that the extra care that has gone into their preparation will save you many hours in construction time.
