Matt: Any thoughts of designing something like the Glen-L Power Yak?[/quote:c605eaf1bc]

We can do something like that. I'd say to make a few changes like having it so the motor doesn't have to go so deep. The shallow water fishermen would like that.

I bet the weight could be improved too.

Check out how this guy has his trolling motor mounted for foot pedal directional control and speed control on a rheostat:

Power Yak?
Do you mean something like this:

See it here:

Proven modern design, easy to build.

Thanks JM. Your boat may be an option too.

I don't know if you were asking, but this is the Glen-L PowerYak. It has an electric trolling motor buried in it somewhere.

Yes, I knew the boat. The Power Yak is narrower and he has a "built-in" trolling motor. Not a bad set up but you can't lift the thing to launch or when running aground it. Or maybe I miss something.

website says 110...that's a very big "kayak". More like a skiff.

Definately a 2-man launch or you'd need a trailer.

Bet it can hual a decent sized load.

Thanks Matt. I'll probably start a new topic for this discussion.
