Starting from the "Victory" plans published in Science and Mechanics, Jacques Mertens has adapted the design to modern composite material. I love the look of the boat and also the idea of small narrow hull needing little HP.

A couple of ideas are a "green" version with electrical motor for silent puttering around on canals, And on the other end of the spectrum a jet ski unit powered uber speed boat.
